The cockpit alone is evidence that you've got the fighting edge. It's huge for a 45-foot boat. At 132 square feet, it's bigger than the cockpits on boats up to 50 feet!

Big things and small, Hatteras ingenuity has gone to work on all of them.

An optional bait center beneath a big bulkhead window is designed for a clean, sculpted look that conceals tackle storage, sink, cutting board and optional clutch and throttle controls. And they're all right where you want them.

A freestanding bait freezer, you ask? Certainly it's available- spacious, yet out of the way, beneath the teak-and-stainless flybridge ladder (which Hatteras designed as far to port as possible to give you an even more useable cockpit space).

Aft, a large removable fishwell is available for you (flush with the sole, to be handy yet out of the way) along with a circulating live baitwell. A wide transom door for landing big ones is, as you'd expect, standard.

The large flybridge features a complete control station console and helm chair- with the extra seating you like built-in forward. All skillfully arranged to give you maximum visibility all around.

Like every Hatteras, she is quick. Stable. Maneuverable. In short, all the things the world expects of a Jack Hargrave-designed hull built in the Hatteras tradition.

The 45 is sea strong and sea powerful- an ideal combination of engine, hull shape and hull structure. With your choice of horsepowers in twin G.M. 6V-92TA diesels, you'll have power that turns, power that tracks, power that performs.

And because she's a Hatteras, the 45 is sea sound.

Her operating systems include an 8 kw generator, 12 and 120/240 volt electrical systems; and the Hatteras Systems Monitor, with visual and audible signals.

The most important thing is that the electrical systems are so well engineered, that they've become technological standard by which others are judged. Which is another way of saying, they're Hatteras-designed. It all adds up to everything you've wanted in a fishing machine, in one magnificent Hatteras.

How do you find the balance of all the things that make fishing a pleasure? Leave it to Hatteras.

Nobody understands better than Hatteras that the total experience of the sport fishing involves more than fishing. And to Hatteras, that means helping you enjoy an all-around quality of life!

Some for-instances- Hatteras designers found ways to give you an extra generous salon, open to the galley, that makes living well as inevitable as fishing well.

The 45 Convertible has an excellently laid out 14'6" beam, which means spaciousness becoming a Hatteras, the inevitable reward for your days well spent.

You'll find an exceptional L-shaped lounge to starboard with build-in end tables. You'll find appropriately rich carpeting... sliding windows of tinted glass. (The lounge is over eight feet long, with what you'll agree is the best rod storage locker of any boat in its class!)

Even the salon's aft bulkhead indicates a totally new arrangement, with a substantial glass-top sliding door slightly left of centerline. A spacious, 39" x 47"-wide window dominates the starboard side of the aft bulkhead, letting in an abundance of light. Beneath is plenty of room for an additional chair.

You deserve something special in a wet bar, and sure enough, it's available- Compact and handsome- with a pull-out glass storage drawer and ice-maker below.

Three steps forward of the salon, the galley area is a delightful area in which to prepare the rewards of the day. You'll find a three-burner range with oven, a full-size refrigerator with freezer (and ice maker) and stainless steel sink, as well as lots of counter and storage space.

Anyone who fishes will should rest extraordinarily well- there's no argument there.
