41' TIARA 4100 OPEN (1998) "RATHER BE LUCKY"

Probably one of the most enduring qualities of the Tiara 4100 Open is its wide-ranging appeal. The boat has been in the company's line for almost five years, and it continues to be a popular model because of its size and versatility. The 4100 fits a niche in the marketplace that makes it just right.

First and foremost, the 4100 Open provides an excellent platform for both cruising and fishing, not to mention other watersports such as diving. "The majority of our customers are cruisers, yet do some fishing," according to Bill White, Tiara's Northeast Sales Representative. The list of options makes it possible for an owner to equip the boat to whatever extent he or she desires, White continues. "We've seen it rigged with a full marlin tower."

Rob Everse, Tiara Marketing Associate, says the 4100 is a versatile boat that's easily converted into a hard-core fishing machine. "It will do well in tournaments," he says. Bill White adds that the large cockpit is ideally suited for fishing, yet also makes an excellent entertainment venue. "Seating is comfortable both in the upper helm and cockpit," he says.

At slightly over 41 feet in length overall - not counting the pulpit - the 4100 could be considered just the right size. "It's a size a lot of people are interested in," White explains. "It's a big boat, yet it handles extremely well with just two people."

The interior space allows for full-size amenities. The galley, for example, has an upright refrigerator-freezer. It's just like the one you have at home. So is the queen-size berth in the master stateroom. There's no compromise to cram things into tight quarters here. The cabin is very much like a small apartment - cozy yet not confining.

"Interior-wise, I think it's just a super nice layout," Bill White says enthusiastically. "It's a nice size galley to work in. That means something since the lady has a lot to say in buying a boat."

The Tiara 4100 Open can comfortably cruise at 26 miles per hour on its modified deep vee hull.

The cabin's standard interior features include teak or honey ash interior accents and cabinetry offset by supple upholstery and a choice from several rich fabrics. An AM/FM stereo system with multi-disc CD changer and a TV/VCR combo with a remote control are the standard entertainment fare, with upgrades available if you like.

"The original thinking for the 4100 was that it would replace the 4300," Rob Everse explains. "That didn't happen. The 4100 found a completely separate niche." Although similar in size and features, the interiors of the two boats have completely different layouts. The 4100 provides more room in the main salon by moving the head forward. The seating and dining area are placed directly across from the galley, creating a gathering place for meal preparation.

Bill White points out that two couples can easily be at home on the 4100, whether for day trips or cruising. The dining area seats four with plenty of elbowroom to spare, five if you want to get close and friendly. And when the sun goes down, it quickly converts into a double bed for sleeping. Privacy is not an issue as there'S a folding panel that closes off the two sleeping areas.

"Tall people will certainly appreciate the headroom in the 4100's cabin," White emphasizes. "There's between six-feet-five inches and six-feet-ten inches throughout."

Excellent performance and fuel economy are obtained from the 4100 Open's twin-Diesel power. For example, two 450 horsepower Caterpiller 3126 TA's deliver a top speed of 34 miles per hour, yet cruise very efficiently at 27 while delivering a 466 mile cruising range from the standard 524 gallon fuel tank. The 4100's modified deep-V hull has a stable, dry ride, even when the going gets rough. It features hand-laid construction and integrated composite stringers for strength and durability. The highest quality materials, such as 316L stainless steel, are used throughout.

Whether cruising or fishing, the Tiara 4100 Open provides everything you need. "It has the size, handleability and versatility that many boat buyers are looking for," Bill White says. Best of all, the 4100 offers the uncompromising quality and reputation of being a Tiara.
