64' VIKING 64 CONVERTIBLE (2008) *LLC* OFF MARKET

A yacht designed for blue-water fishing and distant cruising must exceed the expectations of two very distinct groups of yachtsmen. Tournament anglers and crew need a cockpit that leaves nothing to chance. That more tournament anglers fish aboard a Viking than any other brand of boat in an undeniable fact based on the World Billfish Series’ prestigious President’s Cup, which was awarded to Viking and our dealer network two years in a row during the 2005 & 2006 Miami International Boat Show.

PERFORMANCE...

Building a new boat is a challenging task in its own right. But with the youngest fleet in the marketplace and recognized throughout the world as the industry leader, building a better boat every day is what we do at Viking. The latest incarnation of this commitment to excellence is the remarkable Viking 64 Convertible..

The stand-up engineroom features Viking’s leading edge powder-coated web-frame structural steel engine beds. These are mounted to dedicated transversals for vibration free engine and drive train alignment. Various engine packages from Caterpillar and MTU are available and depending upon the power, load and sea conditions, the 64 Convertible will cruise in the mid-30 knot range and have top speeds approaching 40 knots.

PLEASURE...

The resplendent interior of the Viking 64 Convertible is especially spacious thanks to the yacht’s generous 19-foot 2-inch beam. The sheer volume also allows a variety of interior plans to suit an array of owner requirements. In the salon, for instance, there is a choice of either an L-shaped sofa with a pair of plush bar stools at the galley counter, or a U-shaped sofa.

Both arrangements for the salon include a custom hi-lo table and provide superb viewing of the 42-inch plasma television screen framed in teak cabinetry above the dinette. An electrically operated door simplifies egress to the salon from the cockpit at the touch of a button.

Teak valances conceal air conditioning registers for maximum cooling and reduced noise levels. High gloss joinery throughout the salon and rich designer fabrics and appointments abound. The U-shaped galley is on the same level as the salon and is designed for maximum efficiency. Convenience and practicality merge throughout the galley with Sub-Zero under counter refrigeration, an electric cook top, trash compactor and custom grade Corian countertops.

Whether prepping gourmet meals at the yacht club dock or making snacks for the nightshift 100 miles offshore, the galley keeps every amenity close at hand. Stowage is both bountiful and easy to reach. Premium Amtico teak and holly flooring is beautiful and durable for life at sea. Opposite the galley, the dinette seats four comfortably.

AFTER HOURS...

A private retreat after a glorious day on the water, the master suite is all about comfort. Located amidships and forward of the galley, maximum privacy is assured even if the crew rises early. A four-stateroom plan also is available and offers a configuration in the master suite with an angular king-size berth.

Throughout the master suite, beautiful teak joinery abounds and thoughtful features such as air conditioning that flows from behind the valances for better distribution, an entry credenza, twin maple-lined hanging lockers and ample stowage lockers and drawers highlight Viking’s unmatched attention to detail. An entertainment package to please devout audiophiles consists of a 20-inch flat screen television mounted to the wall and a Bose 3-2-1- stereo/CD/DVD player system.

The master head is air conditioned and provides a one-piece Corian countertop and sink on a sculpted front vanity with plenty of stowage below and above behind the twin mirror medicine cabinet. A one-piece custom frameless shower door opens to reveal a large fiberglass shower stall with molded-in sink and brass fixtures. A sizeable linen closet, a Sealand Magnum Opus vacuum flush toilet and durable Amtico flooring are standard items.

The starboard stateroom also has a private head and stall shower. Adjacent to the head in the companionway is a laundry center with a front-loading washer and dryer behind a teak door.

BUSINESS

The cockpit boasts 180 square feet of working space, including a mezzanine deck. The mezzanine is especially desirable on a yacht this size because it creates an upper and lower cockpit; spectators are close to the action, but never in the way of the angler or wireman and never obstruct the captain’s view of the cockpit. The mezzanine provides an excellent place to relax at the dock or enjoy welcome shade during the mid-day troll.

The mezzanine actually enhances the cockpit and makes it feel larger because every important detail is built in and then some. Bait freezers, for example, are undermounted to increase capacity. A step to the salon lifts to expose a cavernous drink cooler. For a very special touch, misters can be added to the underside of the bridge overhang, which emit a refreshing mist of water to cool the area.

Standard amentities include a one-piece anodized aluminum ladder to the flying bridge, a molded nonslip fiberglass sole with aluminum plate reinforcement for fighting chair placement, stainless-steel hardware, walk-through transom door with lift gate, an in-deck fishwell with a macerator pump, flush rod holders, gaff, tag stick and mop stowage, fresh and salt water washdown systems, engineroom and lazarette access.

For dockside convenience, there are port and starboard Glendinning shore power cord reels. Experienced anglers also will appreciate the increased transom shape, which provides better maneuverability in reverse to help gain line and outgun big fish.

CONTROL

With 360-degree commanding views, the centerline helm gives the captain an outstanding edge to keep his eyes on the action. Sightlines are eagle-sharp for watching baits and monitoring navigation electronics and engine instrumentation.

Electronics stow neatly behind clear acrylic panels in the raised helm, always in view and weather protected. Plus, the intelligent design of the helm provides unfettered access to simplify equipment installation and service, as well as considerable dry stowage for valise-packed life rafts and other bulky gear.

The helm pod is arranged for maximum utility with single-lever electronic controls and power-assisted hydraulic steering, which deliver uncanny response for a yacht of its length thanks to the high-speed stainless-steel rudders. The flying bridge also provides a pair of lounges, stowage for fishing rods, kites, loose gear, a chill box for drinks and an available deep freezer ahead of the console. Murray Products helm and companion seats with stainless-steel pedestals and teak ladder backs are standard.

CROWNING PROVIDENCE

Offering all of the performance and style of the 64 Convertible, the Viking 64 Enclosed Bridge Convertible is a spectacular rendition of cruising luxury that easily rivals any motor yacht of similar length. The climatecontrolled bridge is air conditioned with reverse cycle heat and dehumidification mode.

For relaxing, the bridge features an L-shaped lounge on a raised platform with a cocktail table to allow maximum visibility at the dock or underway. For entertainment, standard amenities include an LCD television, CD player and stereo, plus a refrigerator with built-in icemaker. Cabinetry throughout the bridge is hand-finished teak joinery.

The helm is a commanding display with a destroyer-type stainless-steel wheel, intermittent wipers and washers, electronic controls, powerassisted hydraulic steering and leather Stidd helm seat flanked by companion jump seats with footrests. The dash is wrapped with supple black ultra leather to reduce glare and provide a subtle background for electronics and engine instrumentation.

A second helm abaft the bulkhead features a pod-style control station for easing into the slip or fishing maneuvers. This afterdeck area also contains a molded fiberglass seat with removable cushions and stowage below. Overhead, a pair of quartz lights provides nighttime illumination. A spiral staircase is available to access the enclosed bridge from the salon and complements the powder-coated ladder in the cockpit.
