What's more, her full-beam master suite has separate en-suite head and shower compartments with an elegantly designed vanity between them. The 408 also features a broad aft deck with wet bar, a bridge deck with generous seating, a well-appointed helm station and underwater exhaust for maximum cruisability. Step aboard the 408 and you'll find that a midsize yacht can indeed be your home away from home.

Aboard the new Meridian™ 408 Motoryacht, boating options are wide open. The 408 delivers a combination of functional space, superior quality and great cruising value in an aft-cabin configuration.

The Meridian 408 Motoryacht combines an incredibly spacious interior with exceptional visibility that provides magnificent views of the surroundings for everyone. Like all the Meridian Yacht models, the 408 Motoryacht is designed from the inside out to maximize space as well as performance, providing boaters the ultimate in livability and cruising.

The 408 combines a hull design that maximizes cruising performance with a deck design that optimizes space, providing plenty of room for family and friends. Inside, the full-beam salon with its high-gloss natural cherry wood interiors creates a classic look that is both inviting and comfortable. The frameless, tempered safety-glass windows with nearly 360-degree viewing make you feel that you’re one with your surroundings. When you turn your attention indoors, you will find the salon’s media center, which features a 24-inch flat-screen Sony® TV with VCR, along with a Clarion® stereo system for continued entertainment. The salon of the 408 provides many comforts of home with a Mirage® leather lounge with double integrated incliners, and an adjustable table. The openness and design of the salon provide all the spacious elegance you need to entertain more than a dozen people.

You’ll find a full galley featuring standard Karadon™ solid-surface custom countertops that are both stylish and durable. The galley also includes a double stainless-steel sink, three-burner electric cook top, convection oven and microwave, and large refrigerator/freezer, for easy and convenient food preparation.

The Meridian 408’s two large staterooms promise a good night’s sleep on the water. Just beyond the galley is the forward stateroom with a double-island berth and an optional surround-sound entertainment system for your complete enjoyment while overnighting. The master stateroom, aft of the salon, comes with a standard innerspring mattress on the queen-size island berth. The split master head expands the master stateroom, providing more privacy. A functional vanity, electric head and a dedicated shower add convenience. Both staterooms provide plenty of storage for the gear you need for extended cruising.

According to Paul Cherney, vice president of sales for Meridian Yachts, “The expansive master stateroom with the split master head will offer boaters a relaxing respite after a day of cruising or entertaining.”

Outside, the aft-deck bar houses a sink and an optional icemaker and/or refrigerator. There’s plenty of room for several people to enjoy the view while relaxing. From the aft deck, ascend the molded portside staircase to the command bridge and assume control. The center helm with forward-facing companion seat is designed for easy access to all the controls and instrumentation, while friends and family enjoy the full wrap-around seating for the ultimate cruising experience. The 408 is also available with a Meridian-exclusive Docking On Command (D.O.C.) system. The easy-to-use D.O.C. system integrates bow and stern thrusters in a single control, allowing the captain to navigate through the tightest docking conditions with ease and confidence. Cherney says, “All Meridian Yachts are easy to dock and maneuver, because D.O.C. works at the touch of a button, making handling convenient and hassle-free.”

During the fiberglass construction process, each part is laid by hand, using heavy-grade 24-ounce woven roving and biaxial knit fiberglass fabric, hand-rolled and finished between alternating layers of strand. An optimum amount of premium resin is used to attain the highest strength-to-weight ratio structure possible. Premium-quality vinylester resin is used behind the gelcoat to prevent water penetration and enhance the superior mirror-like finish found on all Meridian Yachts.

The deck design is cambered for on-deck water management and is constructed using closed-cell foam coring material with backing plates in high-stress areas for a strong, yet lightweight system. Meridian offers a 10-year structural hull and deck limited warranty, giving owners peace of mind.

The standard engines on the Meridian 408 are twin 8.1 L MerCruiser® Horizon gas inboards, delivering 370 horsepower each. Optional engines include twin 8.1 L Horizon gas inboards, providing 420 horsepower each; 330 Cummins® MerCruiser diesel inboards; and 370 Cummins MerCruiser diesel inboards. All Meridian engine beds have transverse crossbeams to reduce vibration and add strength. This engine mounting system transfers the weight, torque and thrust of the propulsion system to the structural components of the hull, spreading out the forces for improved durability.
