Best in Class

Inside, you’ll be transported by exquisitely wrought cabinetry, designer decor and spacious accommodations. From swept bow to uncluttered cockpit, captain’s bridge to mechanic’s engine room, Viking’s boatbuilding artistry is evident everywhere you care to look.

Virtuoso Performance
The name Viking is synonymous with total performance. This means high sustained cruising speeds, absolute helm control in any direction to the sea and the expanded range to open up new horizons.

Viking’s well-balanced, time-tested and highly refined hull form approaches perfection with a sharp forefoot to slice through head seas. Fifteen degrees of transom deadrise, wide reverse chines, fairbody planning surfaces and a solid keel combine for excellent cruising efficiency and stability and arrow-straight tracking in quartering seas. Recessed rudder and shaft strut pads reduce drag and under-water noise while recessed trim tabs, located well clear of fishing lines, fine-tune the hull’s running attitude.

Clearly in Command
Along with the cockpit, the bridge defines a sportfisherman. The 55’s spacious bridge offers the captain clear sightlines, a clean and efficient helm layout and seating for twelve with the lounge seats forward. There’s also room for a major-league electronics suite inside the helm console.

Flush, all-fiberglass doors, angled electronics flats, extended hardtop overhang, an insulated drinks box and an innovative radio box all reflect Viking’s sportfishing savvy. A low-profile hardtop featuring a soft enclosure with flush-mounted tracks, a recessed overhead electronics box, and a Palm Beach-style helm pod with single-lever engine controls are all available.

Now This is Living!
The 55’s salon is your tranquil sea-going sanctuary. Exquisitely finished, the 197 sq. ft. salon’s versatile layout, large windows and full 6' 8½" headroom create an open and spacious ambiance.

A closer look will reveal Viking’s careful attention to detail–generous storage space, durable wood finishes, push-to-open door knobs and climate-controlled air that flows evenly and unnoticed through diffusers overhead in the salon.

Always Ready to Serve
Any chef will be thrilled with the well-designed galley. Full-sized appliances include an electric range, microwave-convection oven, side-by-side or available under-counter refrigerator-freezer, and an available dishwasher or trash compactor. Appliances are concealed by cabinetry for an uncluttered look and ample storage space encourages extended cruising.

Cordially Yours

Viking puts your comfort first with roomy three-stateroom, two-head accommodations. The amidships Master Suite features a walk-around queen bed, hanging cedar locker, credenza, and dressing table. The private master head has three storage areas including a full-height linen locker along with an enclosed shower with molded seat.

Your guests will be well cared for in the forward suite with its queen berth, ample lockers and drawers. A versatile VIP arrangement with upper single and lower double berths is available. The en suite guest head, also accessed from the companionway and the third stateroom, features an enclosed shower with molded seat.

The third stateroom to starboard has upper and lower bunks and a large walk-in cedar locker. All staterooms have climate controls and built-in entertainment centers are available. A washer-dryer near the companionway stairs adds convenience to at-sea living.

Brains and Brawn
The 55’s tournament-ready cockpit features 153 square feet of open deck space. With the deck comfortably low to the water, landing fish will become a matter of routine. There’s a five-drawer tackle cabinet, bait prep center, top-loading freezer, gaff storage locker, huge fishbox, bridge over-hang with courtesy lighting, and a second available livewell. The 55 can also be delivered tournament-turnkey ready right from the factory.

Graduate Level Mechanics
Entered from the cockpit, the 55’s all-white, brightly lit engineroom is a textbook example of engineering with excellent machinery access, generous headroom and durable powder-coated metal surfaces. There’s shielded wiring, aircraft-type fuel lines, an equipment gauge package at the cockpit entrance and a one-piece, acoustically sealed composite deck overhead. Y-valve emergency bilge suctions and automatic fire protection systems add an extra measure of safety.

Watermaker, icemaker and second genset are also available. Viking's unique high-strength steel engine beds mounted on dedicated intermediate bulkheads increase drivetrain alignment stability and improve engine accessibility. To industry experts, all these make Viking the acknowledged engineering benchmark.

No Compromises
Viking’s number one priority is building yachts that are safe, reliable and enduring. The solid fiberglass hull bottom is reinforced by interlocking bulkheads and stringers. A one-piece composite deck-superstructure-cockpit liner is bonded to the hull, creating a single structure of enormous integrity. Composite bulk-heads, hull sides and decks combine high strength and stiffness at significant weight savings. Fiberglass tanks will last as long as the yacht itself for the ultimate in system reliability.

Viking’s 540,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art, waterfront, 55-acre manufacturing facility includes complete fiberglass, wood, metal and paint shops, a research & development department and dedicated crafts-people who take great pride in their work. Viking builds 90% of each yacht on-site, providing the ultimate in quality control as well as significant latitude in customization to suit individual owner requirements.

Built to Last…and Last…
Viking Yacht Company is proud of the peerless Viking 55 Convertible, our 31st in-house design. Created by our long-time design and engineering teams, the 55 is the culmination of Viking’s three decades of experience building 3,700 yachts. Our extensive service network stands behind every Viking, while high construction standards translate into preferred insurance risk status and high resale values.

For proud Viking owners, all this dedication and persistence means peace of mind and the pride of owning the finest sportfishing yacht in the world. Viking welcomes you to visit us in New Gretna and see for yourself how we’ve rejected the very notion of boatbuilding limitations and redefined the term Luxury Performance Convertible. You’re invited to conduct a personal inspection, take an exhilarating test ride, and then come to your own conclusions.
