Waterman—Boat Builder and Designer— Yacht Salesman
I started my time on the water as a young man working with a commercial fisherman, gill netting on Lake of the Woods in Canada. My family owned Mac’s outboard service which was a boat and outboard motor dealer for Chris Craft, Champion and Mercury outboards. My Father, Mac was passionate about boat racing and was several times champion in the modified hydroplane class. My own knowledge of Lake of the Woods allowed me to became the youngest charter boat captain on the Lake at 14 years old. That experience solidified my love of being on the water and boating. After college and a number of years of wanting to be back on the water—I landed a job with a large yacht sales business in New York city.
Since that time I have been both a salesman, as well as a designer and partner in boat building businesses in Thailand, Florida and New Jersey. With my varied experiences within the yachting community, the best thing I have found is getting to interact with new people who have a common love of the water. I strive for my customers respect through my knowledge, truthfulness and delivering on my promises. Starting a new chapter here in California at Dick Simon yachts allows me to be where I’m happiest—on the water. Happy boating.
