Graced with utterly perfect proportions that make it difficult to determine this Italian-built boat's true size until you step onboard, the Mochi 51 Dolphin's star shines so brightly that even if its beauty were only skin deep you would forgive it everything else. But you do not have to. Excellent engineering and abundant stowage, fine practical detailing, an elegant twin-cabin interior with a good sea-going galley, and a nipping 34-knot top speed -  the 51' holds its head hight for so many reasons...

Voyaging Magazine Review, Elizabeth Ginns Britten "GLAMOUR GIRL"

I got aboard the Mochi Craft 51 Dolphin during her U.S. debut at an exclusive cocktail party hosted by the Ferretti Group and Voyager's sister publication, Power & Motoryacht. the 51 intrigued me with her exterior styling, an Italian spin on a New England-style lobsteryacht. But I wondered whether she'd be able to pull off the concept. Sure, she looked great from the outside, but lobsteryacht interiors are usually more "workboat" than "luxury."

She showed no hint of compromise as I climbed onboard. She has a big cockpit, teak sole, retractable sunpad, plenty of seating, and huge sunning areas on the foredeck.

I reserved judgment and stepped inside to check out the two-stateroom, two-head interior (with crew cabin aft). I practically forgot I was aboard a lobsteryacht. The Mochi Craft's righ-looking, grain-matched woodwork (even on the head walls!) and teak sole seemed to extend for miles. Her 1950s-inspired design elements (like the sar-shape faucet and chrome accessories in the master head) were dazzling, and her luxurious light color fabrics made her feel roomy throughout. She's more glamour girl than workboat.

What I liked best was that she's unequivocally designed with "alfresco" in mind. She ahs a sliding sunroof above the helm, big side windows that bring the outside in, and a wide sliding-glass door aft in the saloon that makes the space seem as one with the roomy cockpit.

With the standard twin 800hp MAN diesel inboards, she reportedly hits a top speed of more than 41mph.
