38' MEDITERRANEAN 38 CONVERTIBLE (1991) OFF MARKET

The Mediterranean 38 Convertible is a high performance modified deep "V" convertible that is as much at home fishing bill fish as it is luxury cruising with the family. Her deep "V" hull smooths out the ride on offshore waters and provides the safety, sea keeping ability and performance demanded by the knowledgeable yachtsman and serous sport fisherman. Introduced in 1985, the Mediterranean 38 is among the more popular convertibles her size developed in recent years. She was also one of the better boating values of her day—whatever the 38 might lack in finish and detailing was more than compensated by her sturdy construction and a low, factory-direct price. The 38 is a traditional convertible design built in California on a semi-V hull suitable for fishing, diving, or family cruising. REVIEW (BOATING WORLD) |

When you step aboard the Mediterranean 38, you will be both delighted and surprised that a yacht of this caliber, finish refinement, and styling is not only built here in the United States, but that it is also still very affordable.

The engine room on the Mediterranean 38 is outstanding. You will marvel at the attention to detail that is evident everywhere. The engine room is a mirror smooth fiberglass engineered structure that incorporates fiberglass drip pans under the engines, fiberglass battery boxes with lock-down hinged vented covers, engine stringers, elevated floor boards and a molded in sump for the bilge pumps. The standard sound-proofing is superior, featuring mylar faced sound barrier material both on the top of and on the underside of the main salon sole. Special attention has been given to vibration borne noise dampening. This, coupled with large fiberglass water lift mufflers makes the Mediterranean 38 one of the quietest and smoothest vessels of her size afloat. All of the engine room machinery and equipment are easily accessible for maintenance and the engines, equipment, wiring, and plumbing installation are the best in the industry. We invite you to compare our engine room with others and then you will appreciate just how will engineered and well built the Mediterranean 38 really is.

The interior detail is outstanding; curved, laminated teak cabinets and doors are varnished to a satin smooth hand rubbed finish, rich decorator fabrics, lined lockers, and beautifully tailored upholstery contribute to the bright and cheerful feeling of quality and style everywhere. Two interior arrangements are available. Interior "A" has an owner stateroom forward, a large double berth, a fully enclosed head compartment with a separate shower,  and a "L" shaped galley three steps down from the main salon which has a serving bar and pantry. The main salon can accommodate an "L" shaped settee that converts to a double berth and there is a teak entertainment center with a built-in color television. An inside, lower steering station may be added. Interior "B"" is the same as Interior "A", except that an additional double stateroom is added and the galley moves up into the salon.

The Mediterranean 38's cockpit is designed for the avid fisherman. The over 8 foot long cockpit comes standard with a transom door and two large fish boxes, either one of which may be converted to a freezer or live well. A unique built-in 48 gallon, 5 scoop live bait tank, a fiberglass bait and tackle center with a sink and cutting board, polished stainless steel rocket launchers, numerous flush rod holders, and cockpit controls may be added to the cockpit to satisfy even the most discriminating fisherman.

You won't find a better performing, better finished, or a better styled yacht anywhere else for the money.
