Considering the price and occasional unavailability of fuel, it's no surprise to see the rebirth of the classic motorsailer, of which the Mason 63 is certainly a beautiful example. Although termed by the designer and builders as an auxiliary cruising ketch, there's no question that she is a full-powered motorsailer. The only question seems to be one asked at boat shows by visitors unable to determine if she is new or just a perfectly maintained classic. The overall appearance, the fine woodwork and the obvious sailing ability point to a vintage yacht, while the fiberglass hull and modern construction methods confirm that she is truly a new vessel.
