Just to show you how truly remarkable this 52 Convertible is, the starboard console gives you a Hatteras feature no other boat of this size can offer: stand-up access to the engine room through the cockpit. The engine room itself is remarkable for this class and size of convertible. It's been especially designed for ease of movement. Machinery is unusually accessible, and there's plenty of overhead space. (A related demonstration of Hatteras ingenuity is that the air for the engine room comes from intakes under the cockpit coaming, instead of from hullside air intake vents.

The result of this is drier engine room air. Hatteras engineers take nothing lightly.) The standard 30-inch-wide transom gate was built for landing your quarry easily, plus comfortable boarding from a dinghy or at the dock. The 52's huge flying bridge gives good visibility around the entire boat, and excellent visibility into the cockpit-an important benefit during the maneuvering for a big fish. The flying bridge is, of course, equipped with full instrumentation, seating for your guests, and a welded stainless steel ladder that makes movement to or from the bridge easy. A Hatteras 52 Convertible has many of the features and the interior roominess of a boat considerably larger. (Part of the roominess comes from the way she is designed for stability and mobility in the open water. Her famous Hatteras Hargrave hull is double-chined, to deflect spray down and away. The double-chine also allows for increased beam without increasing the wetted surface.) In keeping with the flexibility of customizing this convertible to your particular requirements, the interior can be chosen in a galley-below arrangement, or in an optional deckhouse galley arrangement that gives you three staterooms. In either of the arrangements, the Hatteras tradition of fine cabinetmaking, and efficient use of salon space is evident throughout. Which should come as no surprise.

The well-lit galley in the below-deck arrangement offers you an efficient, step-saving configuration, a refrigerator with a freezer and ice-maker, a three-burner range with oven. a stainless steel sink, and generous storage and counter space. A salon wet bar (In the lower -galley arrangement) sits below the aft bulkhead window. The bar includes an ice-maker, stainless-steel sink, several storage areas. and a recessed serving top.

No matter how closely knit the members of your fishing party are, there comes a time when each will want to retire to privacy.
